An overnight fire at 844 Armstrong Ave. in Kansas City, Kan., caused about $40,000 in damage to property, according to the Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department.
Crews responded within 3 minutes of the call. The fire at 1:21 a.m. Dec. 5 was found in the front room and extended into the attic. The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes, the Fire Department spokesman said.
The one-story wood-framed residential structure was vacant, and there were no injuries, according to the spokesman.
The fire is under investigation as suspicious, the spokesman said.
