One Kansas ticket worth $2 million in Wednesday night lottery drawing

Someone who bought a lottery ticket in Kansas is $2 million richer after Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing, according to the Kansas Lottery.

Another person who bought a lottery ticket in Kansas won $1 million, and five people won $50,000 each in the Wednesday night drawing, the lottery spokesman said.

The $757.7 million Powerball jackpot was hit by someone who bought a ticket in Massachusetts, the spokesman said. It was the largest jackpot won by a single ticket in U.S. lottery history, according to the spokesman.

The Powerball jackpot now reverts to $40 million (in an annuity) for Saturday’s drawing, while Mega Millions will pay $37 million in an annuity for Friday night’s drawing.
