One injured after flat tire on I-70 ends in wreck

One person was taken to the hospital after a wreck at 9:34 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, on westbound I-70 near Park Drive, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.

A 2005 Hyundai XG350 was westbound on I-70 when the driver tried to make a lane change with a flat tire, according to the trooper’s report. The car lost control, overcorrected and collided into the barrier wall, the trooper’s report stated.

A passenger, a 22-year-old woman from Kansas City, Mo., was taken to the hospital, according to the trooper’s report.

The driver, a 25-year-old man from Kansas City, Mo., was not injured, the report stated.

A 1-year-old girl from Kansas City, Mo., who was a passenger, was not injured, the trooper’s report stated. She was in a car seat but was not restrained, according to the report.
