One person died in a fire at 8:13 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, at a residence at 2832 N. Allis St., Kansas City, Kansas.
According to a Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department spokesman, firefighters advanced a line to the rear of the structure and found an adult male victim. The man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, the spokesman stated.
Heavy smoke and fire were reported from the single-story residence when firefighters arrived, according to the spokesman.
Firefighters always assume someone is inside a structure unless they know for a fact they aren’t, the spokesman stated.
“Our firefighters did everything they could to rescue the victim, but unfortunately it isn’t the outcome we would hope for,” the spokesman stated.
