A pedestrian has died from injuries sustained in a crash this afternoon at the Walmart at 108th and Parallel Parkway, according to a police spokesman.
A sport utility vehicle ran into the Walmart building at 108th and Parallel Parkway about 2:35 p.m. Thursday, the police spokesman stated.
The SUV struck two pedestrians outside the east entrance to Walmart, then crashed into the side of the building, according to the spokesman. It did not go into the building.
The driver and two pedestrians, all adults, were taken to the hospital. One pedestrian has died, while the driver and other pedestrian are in serious condition, according to the spokesman.
Police are not certain of the cause of the accident, but potentially it could be a medical condition.
The store remained open during the accident.
The concrete pillars need to be placed around the building for this very reason.
