Many offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 4, for the Labor Day holiday.
The Unified Government administrative offices will be closed that day and will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 5, for regular business hours.
The Board of Public Utilities administrative offices and customer service lobby also will be closed on Monday, Sept. 4, for the holiday, a spokesman stated.
The BPU’s emergency service will remain open, and is available seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Customers may call 913-573-9522 for power emergencies and 913-573-9622 for water emergencies.
Labor Day, Sept. 4, also is a holiday for Waste Management, according to a company news release. There will be no residential recycling or trash service that day.
If customers’ trash is usually picked up on Monday, it will be picked up on Tuesday next week. Residential trash and recycling service will be delayed one day the rest of the week. The usual Friday trash collections will take place on Saturday.
