According to a note in the Unified Government newsletter, the offices of the Unified Government and Board of Public Utilities will be closed on Friday, Dec. 25, in observance of the Christmas Day holiday and Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, for New Year’s Day.
Offices will reopen for business during regular business hours the following Monday.
State of Kansas offices will be closed Thursday, Dec. 24, and Friday, Dec. 25, for the Christmas holiday. State offices also will be closed Friday, Jan. 1, for New Year’s Day.
Trash will not be collected on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Trash pickup will be delayed one day for those whose trash pickup day is usually on Friday. The schedule for those whose trash is picked up Monday through Thursday remains the same. The recycling schedule will be the same as the trash schedule.
Friday, Dec. 25, is a federal holiday, along with Jan. 1, New Year’s Day.
The U.S. Postal Service will be closed on Christmas Day, Friday, Dec. 25, and Friday, Jan. 1, New Year’s Day.
