Someone bought a lottery ticket in northeast Kansas that won $1 million in Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing, according to a Kansas Lottery spokesman.

Another ticket, sold in southwest Kansas, matched four of the first five numbers, plus the Powerball, to win a $10,000 prize, according to the spokesman. Altogether, Kansas Lottery players won a total of 44,403 prizes worth $1,257,029 in last night’s Powerball drawing.

The $564 million Powerball jackpot in last night’s drawing will be split among winners in three lotteries, the spokesman said. Tickets sold in North Carolina, Texas and Puerto Rico matched all numbers and are each worth an estimated $188 million (annuity). The Powerball jackpot returns to $40 million for Saturday’s drawing.
Kansas’ first millionaire of the week was created in the Feb. 9 Super Kansas Cash drawing when a ticket sold in northeast Kansas matched all numbers to win a $1,755,857 cash jackpot, the spokesman said. The winner has not yet come forward.
