No rate increase is planned for 2015, Board of Public Utilities officials said today.
The BPU held two days of budget discussions Tuesday and Wednesday.
“Even though the budget will increase due to the fact of the recent EPA rulings, there will be no rate increase,” said BPU spokesman David Mehlhaff. “We are using the STAR bond money and our cash flow on a daily basis will be a little bit slow. We’ll be OK.”
The board will vote on the 2015 budget at its next meeting, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17.
