A Night Out Against Crime event is planned from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at the Kansas National Guard Armory, 18th and Ridge Avenue.
The event features Kansas City, Kansas, police, fire and sheriff’s personnel who will meet with residents who attend in an effort to improve law enforcement and community relations.
There will be booths from neighborhood groups, as well. Also, there will be hot dogs, chips and soda available to those who attend.
The event is free and open to the public.
Bonner Springs also is planning at Night Out Against Crime from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight at Lions Park, 300 W. Morse, Bonner Springs.
This event features a live disc jockey, refreshments, activities, a bike giveaway, inflatables, a bike rodeo, and K-9 demonstration. Bonner Springs police officers, EMS and sheriff’s office will be in attendance. It is free and open to the public.
