New Unified Government commissioners are scheduled to take the oath of office at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 23, at the Commission Chambers, City Hall, lobby level, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kan.
The newly elected commissioners include Melissa Bynum, 1st District at large; and Harold Johnson, 4th District. Re-elected commissioners also will take office.
Also re-elected at the recent general election were Commissioners Angela Markley, Brian McKiernan and Ann Murguia. They were unopposed in the general election.
Wyandotte County Register of Deeds Nancy Burns also will take the oath office at 5 p.m. April 23.
The regular UG Commission meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. April 23.
The agenda for the 7 p.m. meeting includes:
• An ordinance authorizing the UG legal department to start proceedings to acquire property for the Turkey Creek Missouri interceptor project.
• An ordinance authorizing the legal department to start proceedings to acquire property for the 82nd and Tauromee storm sewer enhancement project.
