Today, Wyandotte County District Attorney Jerome A. Gorman filed charges in the Aug. 18 shooting deaths of Deron Rucker and Antonio Rucker.
The Ruckers were shot to death in the 1900 block of Quindaro Boulevard in Kansas City, Kan.
Charged was 22-year-old Christopher E. Lewis, last known to reside in Kansas City, Kan. District Attorney Gorman charged Lewis with two counts of premeditated murder in the first degree.
Lewis will likely make a first appearance before the court on Aug. 21. A hearing time is not yet scheduled.
Lewis is currently in the Wyandotte County jail. Bond was set at $1 million.
The investigation of the Rucker homicides remains underway by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department.
Persons charged with crimes are not guilty until proven guilty by proof beyond a reasonable doubt, according to the district attorney’s office.
