Isaiah S. Butler, 17, was charged today in Wyandotte County District Court with murder in the Nov. 4 slaying of Andrew Harman at 9th and Central in Kansas City, Kan.
District Attorney Jerome Gorman charged Butler with one count of first-degree felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and one count of criminal possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Butler was last reported to reside on South 42nd Street, in Kansas City, Kan.
Butler is in custody, and a hearing on the district attorney’s motion to prosecute Butler as an adult is not yet scheduled, a spokesman for the district attorney’s office said.
The Kansas City, Kan. Police Department is investigating the case.
Persons who are charged with a crime are presumed not guilty unless and until proven guilty in court.
