Motorcycle accident sends two to hospital

A motorcycle accident at 8:42 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, at 13909 Parallel Parkway injured two people.

The Harley Davidson was westbound on Parallel, and for an unknown reason, the driver lost control and came to rest in the north ditch, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.

A 58-year-old Leavenworth, Kan., man was injured and taken to the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., according to the report. Also injured was a 51-year-old woman from Shawnee, Kan., who was a passenger on the motorcycle, the report stated. She also was taken to KU Hospital.

The report stated that the driver and passenger were wearing only eye protection, not helmets.
