A major event happened May 11 at the Wine Barn, located at 2850 N. 119th in Kansas City, Kan. This event was the second annual Mother’s Day event, where moms can come out and get a free glass of wine. While they are there, they had an art fair where various artists would come and show off their work.

This was a good way for mom to  get a glass of wine and also to meet various artists from the local area in a highly picturesque setting of western Wyandotte County. This is the second year of their Mother’s Day celebration.

“Last year we had well over 100 people attended this event, and if the weather holds out we plan to exceed that number,” according to Celeste Mikijanis, one of the owners.

The Wine Barn has one various awards for the wines particularly statewide. In fact they have a very unique selection, such as Apple Pear, Cat Daddy, and chocolate raspberry, to name a few.
