More rain in forecast this week

More rain and storms are in the forecast through the middle of the week, according to the National Weather Service.

Storms may produce locally heavy rain with several inches of rain possible this week across the central portion of the states through the middle of the week, the weather service said.

Severe thunderstorms are not expected today, according to the weather service.

Today’s high will be near 81. The chance of rain is 70 percent, the weather service said.

Tonight, the low will be around 68. The chance of rain is 70 percent, according to the weather service.

Tuesday, expect showers and thunderstorms, with a 60 percent chance of rain, the weather service said. The high will be near 81.

Rain is also in the forecast through Wednesday night, according to the weather service.

The rivers in Wyandotte County are not in flood stage. In other places in the region, a flood warning has been issued, including the Missouri River at St. Joseph; the Missouri River at Atchison, the Missouri River at Sibley, the Missouri River at Waverly, and the Platte River near Platte City.
