Work scheduled on the U.S. 69 bridge over the Missouri River on Saturday, Nov. 21, has now been postponed, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.
MoDOT officials had planned to close the northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. 69 over the river from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday for concrete placement work, but that plan has been changed, according to officials.
All work is weather-dependent, according to MoDOT, and a new date for the work will be announced later.
The U.S. 69 bridge over the Missouri River, which connects Wyandotte and Platte counties, is being replaced. A new structure will be constructed in its place, and will include multiple lanes and bike and pedestrian access, MoDOT officials said. It will be open to traffic in December 2016.
