Minor injuries reported after trooper chasing suspect collides with noninvolved SUV

A Kansas Highway Patrol trooper chasing a suspect collided with a noninvolved vehicle at 10:37 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at 29th and Minnesota Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas, resulting in five possible injuries or complaints of pain.

According to a KHP crash log, the trooper’s 2018 Dodge Charger was actively pursuing a vehicle westbound on Minnesota Avenue when it collided with a noninvolved Chevrolet Suburban that was northbound on 29th. The suspect, in another vehicle, fled.

The trooper’s Dodge Charger had its emergency lights on, according to the KHP report.

The trooper, a 24-year-old man from Overland Park, Kansas, had a possible injury or complaint of pain, according to the KHP report.

The driver of the Chevrolet Suburban, a 39-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, man, had a possible injury, the report stated.

A 40-year-old Kansas City, Missouri, man who was a passenger in the Suburban had a possible minor injury and was taken to a hospital, according to the report.

A 15-year-old Kansas City, Missouri boy in the Suburban had a possible minor injury and was taken to the hospital, the report stated.

An 11-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, boy also had a possible minor injury and was taken to a hospital, according to the KHP report.
