Calm fall weather will continue through Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures will gradually increase, going from a high of 55 on Wednesday, to 68 on Thursday and 72 on Friday.
Then showers with an isolated storm are possible overnight Friday into Saturday morning across the area, the weather service said. No hazardous weather is expected, outside of lightning.
Storms also are possible Sunday into Monday, according to the weather service, with no severe weather expected.
The Missouri River above Parkville, where the gauge is on I-435 between Wyandotte County and Platte County, has dropped out of minor flood stage and into action stage Wednesday morning. The Kansas River is below minor flood stage and below action stage.
Today, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 55 and a northwest wind of 6 to 8 mph, the weather service said.
Tonight, it will be mostly clear with a low of 40 and a calm wind, according to the weather service.
Thursday, it will be sunny with a high near 68 and a calm wind becoming south around 6 mph in the afternoon, the weather service said.
Thursday night, there will be increasing clouds, with a low of 50 and a south wind of 6 mph, according to the weather service.
Friday, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 72 and a south wind of 9 to 15 mph, gusting as high as 31 mph, the weather service said.
Friday night, there is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 a.m., with a low of 53. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.
Saturday, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 68, the weather service said.
Saturday night, it will be mostly clear with a low of 47, according to the weather service.
Sunday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 72, the weather service said.
Sunday night, there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a low of 50, according to the weather service.
Monday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 63, the weather service said.
Monday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 45, according to the weather service.
Tuesday, it will be sunny, with a high near 61, the weather service said.
