Mehlhaff named chair of APPA committee

BPU’s chief communications officer, David Mehlhaff, has been named chairman of the American Public Power Association (APPA) Public Communications Committee.

“David has been actively involved in the American Public Power Association’s Public Communications Committee for several years now,” said the association’s director of media relations and communications, Tobias Sellier. “His years of experience and strong track-record in the fields of communications and public relations made him an obvious choice to lead the committee.”

As APPA chair, Mehlhaff will head up the Public Communications Spring Issues Roundtable held in Washington, D.C., and will be helping plan the annual Customer Connections Conference held in the fall of 2019 in New Orleans.

The American Public Power Association (APPA) is the voice of not-for-profit, community-owned electric utilities that power 2,000 towns and cities nationwide and serve more than 49 million people. The association advocates and advises on electric policy, technology, trends, training and operations.

APPA was created in September 1940 to represent the common interests of these utilities.
