The Mega Millions jackpot has risen to its highest ever – $1 billion, according to the Kansas Lottery.
The next drawing will be Friday evening, Oct. 19. There will be a cash option of $565.6 million.
According to the Kansas Lottery, the largest jackpot in U.S. history was a $1.58 billion Powerball jackpot that was hit in January 2016.
Powerball also is currently high, with Saturday’s drawing an estimated $470 million (cash option $268.6 million).
