The Mega Millions jackpot has reached a record $900 million, the second largest U.S. jackpot ever, according to a news release from the Kansas Lottery.
No one won the jackpot in last night’s drawing, although one Mega Millions ticket in Kansas won $10,000 and six tickets won $1,000, according to the lottery.
The $900 million Mega Millions jackpot is the largest Mega Millions jackpot ever and the second largest jackpot in U.S. history, according to the lottery. The largest was the $1.58 billion Powerball jackpot hit in January 2016. The next Mega Millions drawing is Friday, Oct. 19. The cash option will be $513.4 million.
The winning numbers in the Oct. 16 Mega Millions drawing are 3-45-49-61-69 Megaball 9 and Megaplier 5. There were 22,414 Kansas winners in the Oct. 16 drawing. With prizes ranging from $2 to $10,000, they won a total of $123,570.
Tonight’s Powerball jackpot also is getting larger, and is currently at $345 million (cash option $199 million).
