A public meeting on housing needs is planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 18, at the Neighborhood Resource Center, 4953 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan.
At the meeting, residents may share their ideas about barriers to fair housing, and the ways the Unified Government could help.
MARC is working with the Unified Government and also with other area cities to gather data, analyze it and present a plan.
To be considered are patterns of segregation and integration trends; racially or ethnically concentrated areas of poverty; disparities in access to opportunity in education, employment, transportation, poverty exposure and environmental health; disproportionate housing needs, including cost burdens and substandard housing; publicly supported housing; access for persons with disabilities; and housing affordability.
Residents may also fill out a survey form online at http://marc.org/Regional-Planning/Housing/Related-Projects/Affirmatively-Furthering-Fair-Housing.
