The Wyandotte County Extension Master Gardeners will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Extension office, Sunflower Room, 1208 N. 79th St., Kansas City, Kansas.
The topic will be “Winter Gardening,” presented by Dennis Connor, Wyandotte County Master Gardener.
Connor will talk about the extending the vegetable gardening season past the first hard freeze.
Options available to the home gardener for fresh vegetables through the winter months will be discussed. These options may range from the expensive to the economical, depending on the needs of the grower.
The fee for the class is $5, which is waived for certified master gardeners. Registration is not required. For more information, call 913-299-9300.
