Master Gardeners’ plant sale attracts shoppers
The Wyandotte County Extension Master Gardeners’ plant sale attracted a crowd in its first few hours on Friday morning.
According to Donna Stalker, a Master Gardener who was volunteering at the event, more than 100 people stopped by in the first few hours.
The sale continues through 5 p.m. Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Extension office, Wildcat Room, 2100 N. 79th St., Kansas City, Kansas.
Naomi Ruff, another Master Gardener, said shoppers were buying a lot of annuals and perennials today.
According to Genny Mingee, a Master Gardener, herbs and tomato plants also were popular selections.
Sara Niemann, also a Master Gardener, said other popular items at the plant sale were milkweed plants, which attract butterflies.
Vegetables, flowers and ornamental grasses were for sale. Purchases may be made by cash or checks.
