Many offices are closed today for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day commemoration.
Unified Government and Board of Public Utilities offices will be closed today.
Although BPU’s business offices are closed on holidays, emergency service is available seven days a week, 24 hours a day. For power emergencies, customers should call 913-573-9522. The water emergency number is 913-573-9622.
There will be no residential trash and recycling service today, Jan. 15, because of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
Waste Management of Kansas customers in Kansas City, Kansas, and Bonner Springs, Kan., will have a one-day service delay this week, according to an announcement from the company. Those whose regular collection day is Monday, will have trash and recycling service the following day, Tuesday, Jan. 16. The rest of the week will be on a one-day service delay. Service will resume to the normal collection schedule next week.
Only residential service is affected. Business and commercial service collection will continue as normal this week.
