Many offices closed on Presidents Day

Many offices are closed today, Presidents Day.

Unified Government offices are closed today, according to the UG’s website.

The administrative offices and customer service lobby of the Kansas City, Kan., Board of Public Utilities also are closed on Monday, Feb. 20, in observance of Presidents Day, according to a news release.

Although BPU’s business offices are closed on holidays, emergency service is available seven days a week, 24 hours per day. For power emergencies, customers should call 913-573-9522. The water emergency number is 913-573-9622 from 8:00 a.m. to midnight on weekdays, and 913-573-9522 from midnight to 8 a.m., and during weekends and holidays.

UG Transit will operate regular weekday service on Presidents Day, Monday, Feb. 20, according to an announcement.

Federal offices are closed in observance of Presidents Day.

Presidents Day is not listed as a holiday for state of Kansas employees, according to a state website.

Public school districts are closed today in Wyandotte County for the Presidents Day holiday.
