Charles Bowser, 18, Kansas City, Mo., was sentenced this afternoon in Wyandotte County District Court to 10 years in prison on charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated battery, and criminal possession of a firearm in connection with a home invasion which took place on Jan. 18, 2015, in the 1400 block of South 55th Street in Kansas City, Kan.
During the incident, one victim fled from the residence as shots were fired and another victim was beaten with a firearm.
The Kansas City, Kan., Police Department investigated the case.
Bowser is also awaiting trial on one count of attempted capital murder, four counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of aggravated battery, two counts of criminal possession of a firearm and one count of conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery in connection with the robbery of a Family Dollar Store near 13th and Quindaro Boulevard on March 3, 2015, and the shooting of Wyandotte County Deputy Sheriff Scott Wood during the robbery of a 7-Eleven store at 44th and Shawnee Drive on March 4, 2015.
The trial of that case is set for May 16, 2016.
