A man died in a crash at 5:11 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, on the westbound I-70 off ramp and northbound 57th Street, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.
The trooper’s report stated that a Chevy Impala was westbound on the ramp at a high rate of speed, failed to stop at a red light, entered the intersection and struck a Chevy Tahoe as it was traveling north through the intersection.
Dalen C. Jefferson, 31, of Kansas City, Kansas, died in the accident, according to the trooper’s report.
A 7-year-old boy in the Impala was injured and taken to a hospital, the report stated.
The driver of the Tahoe, a 39-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, woman, was injured and was taken to a hospital, according to the trooper’s report.
