Dominic Clark, 30, was convicted of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in connection with the Feb. 4, 2013, shooting death of Kelvin Brown.
The shooting occurred in an apartment complex in the 1500 block of North 29th Street in Kansas City, Kan.
The jury reached its verdict on May 1. Sentencing is set for 9 a.m. July 23, in Division 5 of the Wyandotte County District Court.
Assistant District Attorney Molly R. Hill prosecuted the case for the state of Kansas.
