First-round draft pick Patrick Mahomes, will make an appearance Thursday night, July 20, at CommunityAmerica Ballpark, when the Kansas City T-Bones take on the Lincoln Saltdogs at 7:05 p.m.
Mahomes was drafted as a quarterback by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2017 draft.
The signal caller will appear during the T-Bones game joining fans for in game festivities and will sign free autographs for an hour during the game on the concourse.
Mahomes was drafted with the 10th overall pick in 2017 out of Texas Tech University where he set numerous passing records for the Red Raiders during his career as well as winning the Sammy Baugh Trophy as the top passer in the college ranks. He led the nation in yards per game and passing yards and total offense before forgoing his senior season to enter the draft.
The former Red Raider is also no stranger to baseball, having played in high school and for two years in college, and was the 37th round pick by the Detroit Tigers in the 2014 MLB Draft as right-handed pitcher. His father, Pat Mahomes, pitched professionally in the big leagues for parts of 11 seasons as well as finishing his career in the American Association at Sioux Falls in 2009.
