Logano bumps Kenseth out of first place at Hollywood 400 Sprint Cup race at Kansas Speedway
After race leader Matt Kenseth was nudged and spun out with only four laps to go, Joey Logano won the 15th annual Hollywood Casino 400 NASCAR Sprint Series race Sunday at the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan.
Logano, driving the No. 22 Ford, had been following Kenseth closely for a few laps, and Kenseth had been blocking him from passing when Logano tapped the back of Kenseth’s car. Kenseth led for 153 laps.
Kenseth, who was driving a Toyota, was counting on winning Sunday’s race in order to keep in the chase, but it’s not certain now where this leaves him.
In first place in point standings for the Chase for the Cup is Joey Logano. Denny Hamlin is in second place, 13 points back.
In Sunday’s Sprint Cup race, Denny Hamlin, driving a Toyota, was second; Jimmie Johnson was third, driving a Chevrolet; followed by Kasey Kahne, Chevrolet; Kyle Busch, Toyota; Kurt Busch, Chevrolet; Ryan Blaney, Ford; Carl Edwards, Toyota; Brad Keselowski, Ford; and Jeff Gordon, Chevrolet.
Clint Bowyer, driving the No. 15 Toyota, finished 170 of the 269 laps after an accident.
