Santa Claus will arrive around 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, at The Legends Outlets and help to light the 45-foot tall holiday tree, accompanied by holiday music.

The shopping center at I-70 and I-435 will include activities with the free public event. There will be live music, prize giveaways, photos with Santa, kids’ crafts, and free hot cider.

The tree lighting will take place earlier this year, between 5:45 and 6:15 p.m., with live music and activities continuing until 8 p.m.

The events will take place at the center of the Civic Courtyard Fountain in front of AMC Legends 14 movie theater. The LED animated tree will light up with LED snowflakes and a snowfall topper. Decorations throughout the shopping center will be lighted during this event and will stay lighted through early January 2020.

The masters of ceremonies for the holiday lighting event will be Taylor Hemness and Lindsay Shively from KSHB, Channel 41 news.

The bands and musicians that will perform include Rusty Laffoon; Gin Dorsey, Nicole Springer, Nick Nave and Heather Thornton.

Activities at the center courtyard will include live music, face painting, balloon artists and prize giveaways.

Activities at the Legends Lawn, a space at the west end of the center near the Yard House, will include a selfie station, children’s craft station for ornament decorating, a hot cider station, a wish list station and yard games.

Holiday characters including the abominable snowman will be roaming through the center, passing out “magical” holiday glasses.

After the tree lighting at about 6:15 p.m., Santa Claus will be just west of the center courtyard, near the Converse Factory Store and Tommy Hilfiger Outlet for photos. Photos will be free, with guests receiving a shareable digital copy and print-out of their photo.

Guests may visit the Legends Outlets’ VIP tent in the center courtyard to register for the chance to win 15 different prizes in honor of the 15th annual tree lighting. Prizes include a Legends Outlets weekend getaway package for two, jewelry from Helzberg Diamonds Outlet, a gift basket from Dave and Buster’s, and gift cards to retailers such as Nike Factory Store, Eddie Bauer, J. Crew Factory and others. Winners must claim prizes by 8:30 p.m. at the VIP tent. There also will be a prize wheel f to win items such as hot chocolate from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Longhorn Steakhouse certificates and Topsy’s popcorn.

The Legends Outlets will be open for shopping from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16.
