Legends moving forward with plans for jumbo screen; also, Under Armour to move

The Legends Outlets has planned some changes, including the addition of a green area to be called “The Lawn,” and a jumbo screen on the smokestack, according to this preliminary drawing. (Preliminary drawing from the Legends Outlets)

The Legends Outlets is moving forward with its plans to place a jumbo screen outdoors on the west side of the shopping center in Kansas City, Kansas, according to a spokesman.

The jumbo LED screen is set to open sometime this holiday season in a community space at The Legends called The Lawn, the spokesman said. Preliminary plans for the outdoor screen had been announced earlier this year. The screen will be on The Legends’ smokestack, facing south. A second smaller LED screen will face east toward the fountain.

Under Armour Factory House is expanding and relocating from 1843 Village West Parkway, Suite C-109, to the west part of The Legends Outlets near The Lawn.

The new store location has more than 12,000 square feet compared to the previous location at 6,300 square feet, and is slated to open this fall, the spokesman said.

The Lawn, an outdoor community space with seating and shaded areas, is scheduled to open in late spring 2018, with construction starting in February, according to the spokesman.

Cavender’s recently expanded and reopened to a new 16,650-square-foot retail space at The Lawn at 1867 Village West Parkway, Suite D-105. The new space is across from Yard House and next to Charming Charlie, and has more space than the previous Cavender’s site. The store features a new interior with a modern design, according to the spokesman.

H&M and HomeGoods also will join more than 100 stores, outlets, restaurants and entertainment sites at The Legends, the spokesman said. The H&M store, which offers fashions for men, women and children, is scheduled to open in late October, while HomeGoods, a home store, should open in 2018, according to the spokesman.
