Lanes to be closed Tuesday to Thursday on westbound I-70 and northbound I-635

The inside two lanes of westbound I-70 in Wyandotte County will be closed from the Railyard exit to mile marker 417 on the Quarry Road Bridge from Tuesday, April 14, to Thursday, April 16.

On Tuesday, work will occur from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Wednesday and Thursday, work will occur from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting, according to a Kansas Department of Transportation spokesman.

The lane closure is necessary for road sealing. Two lanes will remain open during rush hour traffic, 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., the spokesman stated.

The inside two lanes of southbound I-635 in Wyandotte County will be closed from Parallel Parkway to Kansas Avenue from Tuesday, April 14, to Thursday, April 16.

On Tuesday, work will occur from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Wednesday and Thursday, work will occur from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting, the spokesman stated. The lane closure is necessary for pothole patching.

Traffic will be diverted using signage and traffic cones.

KDOT urged all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone, according to the spokesman.
