The inside two lanes of westbound I-70 in Wyandotte County will be closed from 18th Street to I-635 from Friday, April 17, to Saturday, April 18, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.
Work will occur from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, weather permitting. The lane closure is necessary for joint sealing, a KDOT spokesman stated.
Traffic will be diverted using signage and traffic cones.
A KDOT spokesman urged all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone. To stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas go to www.kandrive.org or call 5-1-1.
Motorists are asked to drive safely and always wear their seat belts, the spokesman stated.
