Johnson County lived up to its No. 3 national ranking Friday, sweeping Kansas City Kansas Community College in three sets in Overland Park.
With the 3-0 win, the Lady Cavaliers improved to 14-2 while KCKCC fell to 9-6 with five of the six losses coming at the hands of nationally ranked teams. JCCC swept with 25-15, 25-22, 25-13 wins.
The Blue Devils, who are 2-2 in the Jayhawk Conference, continue conference play Wednesday when Neosho County visits at 6:30 p.m. Ranked in the Top 20 earlier in the season, Neosho is 8-9 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
The Blue Devils are also back in action this coming weekend when they hold the annual KCKCC Invitational Tournament Friday and Saturday.
The Blue Devils will play Northeastern Oklahoma A&M at 1 p.m. and Waubonsee at 4 p.m. on Friday.
On Saturday, KCKCC will play No. 1 ranked Coffeyville at noon and Metropolitan Community College at 4 p.m.
