A fast start wasn’t enough for Kansas City Kansas Community College to get past Labette in Jayhawk Conference volleyball play in Parsons Wednesday night.
The Lady Blue Devils surged to a 25-8 opening set win only to have the Lady Cardinals rally for 25-19, 26-24 and 25-13 wins.
The loss dropped the Blue Devils to 13-9 overall and 2-5 in conference play heading into the Ramada Classic in Columbus, Nebraska, Friday and Saturday.
KCKCC will play North Platte at 4 p.m. and Bismarck State at 6 p.m. Friday and Northeast at 10 a.m. and Central Nebraska at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The Blue Devils then return home to play host to Fort Scott next Wednesday and conclude their home season Wednesday, Oct. 17, against Highland.
