Kansas Public Radio will broadcast Gov. Sam Brownback’s state of the state address at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12.
Among this year’s expected topics in the Kansas Legislature are declining state revenues and funding for public schools.
The speech is expected to last about 30 minutes, and be followed by the Democratic Party response.
Later tonight, at 8 p.m., KPR will broadcast President Obama’s State of the Union address, followed by the GOP response.
Some Kansas City, Kan., residents may be able to hear the governor’s speech on KANU radio, 91.5 FM in Lawrence, Kan.
Major television networks including CBS, ABC, NBC and Fox, as well as PBS, are carrying the President’s State of the Union address at 8 p.m. tonight.
