The Christmas in July event at Wyandotte County Lake made for cooler thoughts on Saturday, when a heat advisory was in effect.
The weather was not too steamy, and there was plenty of activity to keep the youngsters and adults busy, including food vendors, information booths, prizes and activities.
The event, which featured boats on the lake decorated for the holidays, was organized by the Unified Government Parks and Recreation.
A variety of decorations were spotted, including a Santa in speedos and a Royals boat that featured a “Let’s Go Royals” chant.
