Averaging a double-double, Kansas City Kansas Community College sophomore Lillie Moore is the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Player of the Week for her performances in two games last week.

A 6-1 forward from Magnolia, Arkansas, Moore scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the Blue Devils’ 74-67 loss to Labette and followed with 23 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in a 114-67 win over Hesston College.

“Really happy for her,” KCKCC coach Joe McKinstry said. “A great player, she’s been long deserving. She’s just had some bad luck as far as receiving the award. We look for her to continue playing well for us down the most important stretch of the season.”

Moore ranks fourth in three offensive categories in the Jayhawk Conference – in scoring (16.3), rebounding (8.6) and field goal percentage (.569). She’s also averaging 1.5 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.2 blocks per game.

In addition, she’s scored in double figures in all but two of KCKCC’s 23 games including the last 15 games and has nine double doubles as the Blue Devils enter the most difficult part of the season. Home to No. 3 ranked Highland Saturday, KCKCC plays at No. 1 Johnson County Wednesday and then has a re-match with Labette in Parsons Saturday, Feb. 9.

Moore is the second Blue Devil to earn Player of the Week honors. Teammate Niji Collier has won the award three times and NJCAA National Player of the Week two times.
