The women’s soccer team at Kansas City Kansas Community College has gone to the dogs – and that’s a good thing.
Taking a break from practice and studies, the Lady Blue Devils spent a Saturday volunteering at the Humane Society Animal Shelter in Kansas City, Kan. Litter boxes were cleaned, storage units organized and waste bins emptied along with any other needs.
“Dogs were also taken out for exercise and kicking a soccer ball around and a few of the ladies had the opportunity to rescue a young cat that had been abandoned,” said KCKCC coach Jeremy Winzer. “Getting out and serving the community is very important. My group of ladies have big hearts and were more than willing to give up their Saturday to help out. We definitely look to see ways to help even more in the community.”
