Kansas City Kansas Community College is sponsoring a one-day only event designed specifically for women in the Kansas City community.
The 2015 Women’s Life Brunch and Awards Ceremony is from 1 to 6 p.m. July 26 in the Artis Event Space, 3016 Cherry St. in Kansas City, Mo. Tickets are $10 for Champagne and Commerce; $21.50 for general admission (brunch, Champagne and Commerce) and $30 for VIP, which is an all-access pass with special seating and a gift bag. VIP Tables are also avaible for $160. Tables seat six and include gift bags and a bottle of champagne.
During the awards ceremony, women in business will be recognized with the “Community Choice Award.”
The Women’s Life Brunch is a new event with the goal of empowering women and their entrepreneurism and philanthropic efforts. The goal of the event is to educate and stimulate supportive relationships among women in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
During brunch, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from guest speakers focusing on a variety of topics from balancing family and career to health and wellness. Speakers include:

• Alisa J. Henley – founder of Destiny Consulting, LLC, a full service human resources and organizational development firm that offers services to governmental and non-governmental entities. She is also the founder of the Sunshine Organization, which provides leadership development training and strategic planning services to churches and faith based organizations. • Nyauna Cravens – wife, mother, entrepreneur and a member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, she has started two companies. The first, “Propkey Investments” is a real estate investment firm, where she buys, sells and rents properties. Her second venture is called “Realistic Health,” teaching a holistic approach to health, focusing on an alkaline diet. Cravens will be speaking on the importance of “finance” and taking the proper steps to building “financial security and freedom.”
• Kenyatta Gant – also a mother, wife and owner of Pink Lipps- Lipstick Collection that she started in her own Kansas City home. She will be speaking on the importance and struggles of obtaining “balance” between growing a business and raising a family.
