Finally home after being on the road for a solid month, Kansas City Kansas Community College will honor its sophomores when the Lady Blue Devils close out the home season Monday night.
Nipped 3-2 their road finale at Neosho County, the Blue Devils will honor four sophomores when the entertain Fort Scott Monday at 6:30 p.m.
The sophomores playing their final home game are Alissia Nevarez of Turner, Katie Heeter of Shawnee Mission South, Erin Reilly of Belton and Morgan Schwarz of Burleson, Texas.
KCKCC twice came from behind at Neosho County Wednesday only to drop a 15-13 thriller in the decisive final set.
Neosho won the first and third sets 25-21, 25-8; the Blue Devils rebounded each time with 25-17, 25-19 wins. The match ended a streak of 13 matches on the road for the Blue Devils dating back to Sept. 27.
The loss evened the Blue Devils overall record at 13-13. Sixth place will be on the line Monday as KCKCC and Fort Scott are deadlocked at 3-5. However, the Greyhounds (25-90 have been streaking, winning four in a row and eight of their last 10.
