Are you interested in learning more about another country or culture? Kansas City Kansas Community College’s Global Celebrations might be the way to start that educational journey.
Global Celebrations is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14 in the Lower Jewell building on the KCKCC campus, 7250 State Ave. The purpose of the free event is to celebrate cultural and ethnic diversity. It is co-sponsored by the KCKCC Student Activities Office, Student Senate and the Kansas City, Missouri Ethnic Enrichment Commission.
The entertainment at Global Celebrations includes the KCKCC Jazz Band as well as performers presenting the countries of Germany, India, Indonesia, Loa, Mexico, Republic of China, Samoa, South Korea and Thailand. There will also be authentic ethnic food to purchase from countries such as Ecuador, Israel, Jamaica, Germany, Kenya, Malaysia, Nepal and Thailand.
Other activities will include cultural box displays from a variety of cultures and countries including the United States, Czech and Slovak, Ecuador, Mexico, Gambia, India and Indonesia, among others. Some of these displays will also have products for sale.
