Head coach Valerie Stambersky continued the rebuilding of her backcourt at Kansas City Kansas Community College Thursday with the signing of 5-7 guard Brooklyn Wagler of Shawnee Mission Northwest.
“A hustler and hard worker who can play both guard positions,” Stambersky said. “A smart player, she does a great job of getting on the offensive and defensive boards and has the instincts of knowing when to cut, when to pass and when to shoot.”
Averaging 9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4 assists per game, Wagler helped lead Shawnee Mission Northwest to a fourth place finish in the state tournament.
“I talked to other schools but I just felt like this was the best fit for me,” Wagler said. “I just felt like I belonged.”
