The Kansas City Kansas Community College Music Department is once again preparing to entertain audiences with its upcoming fall jazz concert.
The concert is at 7 p.m. Nov. 17 at the KCKCC Performing Arts Center, 7250 State Ave. The performance is free and open to the public, but donations will be accepted.
The evening will start with a pre-concert reception at 6 p.m. in the lobby of the performing arts center, sponsored by the KCKCC Music Club. The reception will feature live music by solo jazz students from Mike Ning’s Studio.
At 7 p.m., the concert will begin, featuring music by the KCKCC Jazz Band, the two Jazz Combos and three Vocal Jazz Ensembles.
“Patrons attending the concert will hear a variety of music – swing, Latin, funk, gospel and pop especially,” said John Stafford, director of choral activities at KCKCC. “We will also feature our student solo jazz vocalists during the reception. It should be a fun concert.”
