With the fall 2016 semester underway, the Catholic Students of Kansas City Kansas Community College is gearing up with several new activities.
To kick-off the semester, the organization is having a Friday brunch from 10:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 9 in the Lower Jewell building. This free event will happen each month as a way for the KCKCC community to come together to meet, discuss and have a good time, according to group leaders. The group’s leaders for the 2016-2017 year are Serena Escobar, coordinator; Katia I. Figueroa-Acevedo, associate coordinator and Ariana F. Sanchez-Ruiz, assistant coordinator.
Monthly meetings will be held from 10 to 10:50 a.m. every second Monday, and monthly Mass will be from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. every third Wednesday. You do not need to be Catholic to attend.
For the group’s September project, they will be raising funds and supplies for flood victims of the Lower 9th Ward in New Orleans.
