KCK student in KU play about immigration

Mija Jones, a sophomore from Kansas City, Kansas, is appearing in a contemporary play called “Anon(ymous),” a retelling of “The Odyssey” centered around immigration.

Jones plays Belen in the play, which includes themes about family, identity and life’s journey.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. March 31 and April 1, 4, 5 and 6, with a 2:30 p.m. show April 2 in the William Inge Memorial Theatre at Murphy Hall. Performances March 31 and April 1-2 will feature talks immediately following the performance.

Tickets for “Anon(ymous)” are on sale at KU ticket offices and online at www.kutheatre.com. Tickets are also available by calling the University Theatre, (785) 864-3982, and the Lied Center, 785-864-ARTS. Tickets are $15 for adults, $14 for senior citizens and KU faculty and staff, and $10 for children. KU student tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door.
