The Kansas City, Kansas, Street Blues Festival is planned from 3 to 11 p.m. Saturday, June 24, at 3924 N. 49th Drive, Kansas City, Kansas.
The Street Blues Festival will feature performers “King” Bill Carter, C.J. Walker, Bobby Carson, Bob and Diana Suckiel, Danny Cox, Jack Wilson, Karla and Too Bad Jim, and Lemuel Sheppard.
Bill Carter is being honored as this year’s “king” of the festival in a “living heritage tribute.”
Those attending may bring coolers, lawn chairs and blankets. There is a small amphitheater on the property. There will be a stage on top of the hill and and a stage in the amphitheater bowl.
The festival benefits Kansas City musicians and the children’s charities of Widow’s Sons No. 17 Masonic Lodge Past Masters of KCK.
The location is at Lavender’s Circle L Ranch, about a mile north of Leavenworth Road, at the bluffs near the Missouri River.
There is a $10 donation per person.
The blues festival started in 2000, and this is the second year at this location.
